About

I have been writing songs on and off since around 1998. I started out playing bass in an alternative rock band in Leicester (The New Variants)playing music that was heavily influenced by by Nirvana. Playing mostly are own stuff, with a few covers thrown in. We managed to do pretty well locally and supported some up and coming bands including Muse at local venues. After a few years we all went our separate way. I then went on to sing in a local band with some friends (Lizard Eleanor), We were very much swept up in the “post hardcore scene” during influences from bands such as Far and Jimmy Eat World. Some people moved away and the band only lasted a few months. I then started writing some songs on my own and played at a few open mic nights. This is were my passion for singing and song writing really started and from this themy next band formed (the last great story). This again started to fall away with myself moving out of the county and the drummer moving 100 miles away. Since the band broke up I have been writing songs at home specifically to be played acoustically. Still drawing influences from the grunge era, bands such as Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, but also acoustic artists such as Damien Rice, Scott Matthews, William Fitzsimmonds and Elliot Smith. I also sing in a grunge band called tribute to nordberg.
